Merience has been invited to give a presentation on “societal constraints related to stakeholder involvement in environmental remediation and decommissioning processes” at the International Conference on Advancing the Global Implementation of Decommissioning and Environmental Remediation Programmes which will be held in Madrid on 23-27 May 2016. The conference will share and review challenges, achievements and lessons learned related to the decommissioning and environmental remediation programmes that have been implemented during the past decade.

Our presentation will focus on the work undertaken as part of the CIDER Project (Constraints in Decommissioning and Environmental Remediation), where the constraints related to stakeholder involvement in decommissioning and environmental remediation processes were highlighted as well as the approaches to overcome those. The final CIDER report “Advancing Implementation of Decommissioning and Environmental Remediation Programmes” is available here.
