Governance in the energy transition towards a low carbon society in metropolitan areas
Merience provides the technical secretariat of the project “Governance in the energy transition towards a low carbon society in metropolitan areas” (Metropolis Energy GovernAnce – MEGA) partly funded by the World Association of the Major Metropolises Metropolis. The main goal of the project is to exchange knowledge on how metropolitan areas face governance in the energy transition process towards a low carbon-society. It will focus on three key aspects: renewable energy, energy efficiency and democratic energy culture. The metropolitan areas involved are: Area Metropolitana de Barcelona, Intendencia de Montevideo in Uruguay and Lyon Métropole in France. The first workshop of the project partners took place in Lyon on 23-24 November 2017 and the next one will take place in Montevideo on 15-16 May 2018.
